Using the Hydromatrix System, Exploration is underway to Generate Electricity

Union Minister for Electric Power and Ministry of Energy U Thaung Han inspected Paunglaung Dam in Zeyar Thiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, and the Department of Electricity Transmission and Control (Wier) in Tatkone Township, Shwe Myo Main Substation.

Based on the Paunglaung River, it is generating 140 megawatts of Upper Paunglaung Power Plant, 40 MW of Nancho Power Plant and 280 MW of Lower Paunglaung Power Plant, and is working to add another 166 MW to the Central Paunglaung Plant.

“Further exploration of hydromatrix power generation needs to be done as soon as possible in order to make the runoff more efficient and to minimize environmental damage,” said Union Minister Thaung Han.

Similarly, Union Minister U Thaung Han instructed to reduce power losses, strengthen power plant equipment, keep the power plant and office building clean and tidy, maintain safety awareness, staff welfare and cultivate agriculture in vacant lands inside the power plant.

In addition, Union Minister U Thaung Han called for the safe and continuous supply of electricity at the Shwe Myo Main Substation, Department of Electricity Transmission and Control. It was ordered to be made available to the public at full voltage.
